Kicking off a series of BBQ Pop Ups across the UK, Rib Nights Presented Miss Piggy’s BBQ Banquet at The Parcel Yard in Leicester last Saturday night. 5 courses of BBQ heaven all for the cracking price of £20…what’s not to love?!
We started things off with Deep Fried Pickles and the tastiest Blue Cheese Dip which had been made fresh that morning. It was a great start, with Miss Piggy’s managing to convert a few pickle-haters along the way too!
A Rib Nights event wouldn’t be complete without some ribs and we were all in for a treat with Miss Piggy’s famous BBQ Ribs, with a surprise addition of their smoky BBQ Beans. These ribs won Rib Nights Round 2 AND Rib Nights Leicester!
The midway point saw the room feast on the delicious Pork Sliders Two Ways – Traditional North Carolina Style Pulled Pork Slider and a Sliced ‘Money Muscle’ Slider – with Homemade ‘Slaw.
More meat?! Well it was a BBQ Banquet after all, and we couldn’t miss out on Miss Piggy’s amazing BBQ Brisket, served with Seasoned Fries and a Zesty Salad.
At this point everyone was stuffed. So thank god for the extra stomach we all possess that is dedicated just to desserts! Miss Piggy’s served up a slice each of their Baked Vanilla Cheesecake and their Key Lime Pie, both of which have won awards on both sides of the Atlantic.
Miss Piggy’s BBQ Banquet was a huge success – thanks to Miss Piggy’s BBQ for all the delicious BBQ food, the team at The Parcel Yard for all their help, and to everyone who came along!
Feeling hungry? Then you’re all in luck as we have another BBQ Banquet coming to Birmingham later this month! We present the Low ‘N’ Slow BBQ Banquet on June 29th at Chung Ying Central. Over 75% of tickets have already gone, so get your tickets now here.
After a massively successful first stop on our UK Tour in Leicester, we were back in Birmingham on Sunday for Round 4 at The Church Inn!
We had all the usual suspects – 2 world renowned BBQ teams producing absolutely amazing ribs, Jim Beam cocktail specials, the infamous Pickleback (you either love it or hate it!!), music from our resident DJ Manzo, close hands magic from Gavin Parsons (with Christian Fletcher stepping in for the evening sitting), live art from Nineteen degrees…and of course, a room full of hungry rib lovers ready to feast and getting filthy before deciding on a winner!
Round 4 saw Racks of Ruins take on Andy Annat International Crackerjack BBQ in a close battle that left the room divided. Both teams produced absolute quality ribs and we just wanted to take the time again to say a huge thanks to them for competing in Rib Nights!
And the winner of Round 4 was…Andy Annat International Crackerjack BBQ!
The weekend of Round 4 also coincided with Rib Nights hitting the Birmingham Mail. We took over the front page of the weekend pullout with an awesome 2 page spread inside! This was following a fantastic write up in the Birmingham Post by Mary Griffin the week before.
Rib Nights regular Pollyscoffs gave us another fantastic review on her food blog – http://pollyscoffs.com/2014/05/12/rib-nights-round-4. And newcomer to Rib Nights (but we’re hoping her and her party will be regulars now!) Emma Stokes posted an amazing review of the afternoon sitting whilst the evening sitting was still in full swing too – http://www.emmavictoriastokes.com/2014/05/rib-nights-rib-smacking-event-round-4.html
It’s been called “the best one yet” by more than a few, and we’ve had a great response from the surveys we sent out. We’re now working to make Round 5 even better for all our devoted ribsters and newbies…watch this space for more details on Round 5 AND the next stop on our UK tour!
